The opening round of the BRL season is the annual Valleys Diehards Heritage Round.

In 2019 we honoured a truly extra-ordinary Diehard ... the iconic Ross Strudwick.  A brilliant scheming halfback and general.  A brilliant tactical coach. His contribution to Valleys goes beyond his wonderful achievements as a player and coach.

GERRY FITZPATRICK MEDAL

The Man of the Match in the annual Heritage Round receives the Gerry Fitzpatrick Medal in honour of one of our greatest, most loved and respected Diehards.  Valleys Captain Liam Herrington was the inaugural recipient with Gerry's wife Debbie and son Hugh on hand to present.  2018 was Chris Aiton.  In 2019 Moses Noovao-McGreal was the recipient.

TRUE BLUE DIEHARDS JUNIOR TEAM PRESENTATION

Each season a new group of Diehards will be honoured with the naming of a junior team in honour of them.  All teams and their honouree are  presented to the crowd before the BRL game.  Click here to see the 2017-2019  True Blue Diehards.
